Elder Robert Jones : June 2017

Well this week was really just pushing the number forward. So last Wednesday the branch total was 138 I think and now its at 144. The total needed is 150 to complete the branch number. So that was just the clerk working to move in reords of members on the island who never come but were baptized a loong time ago but don't come anymore along with another 5 people we found who are like that. we're still waiting on their records which would make it 149 plus we've got 5 people on date for baptism this Saturday. So its been miraculous this week with how fast that number has changed. God really is working on all of these people to get this branch on its feet to be ward in no time. We honestly haven't really done much. We just keep following up with the members on all of their friends and the FHEs we're supposed to be doing nightly when they feed us every night. Those things are powerful. But Nothing has been more helpful to investigators of the church than member families who gather around them to guide home. Its so simple too just bring them over and help them see the joy we have in our families as members of the church. I didn't say let them see a perfect family just let them come inside of a home based on the foundation of faith and prayer and a perfect hope that families can be together forever. There is a special light you can literally feel inside of members homes... No matter how great people are at living a respectful and honorable and Christ like life outside of the church there is a clear difference in homes of the members of Christs church. So thanks to that light the members only can bring to this work that number is moving and the people here on Aunuu are feeling the spirit of the work and want to take part in it.

That's basically the key point of the week. Every night we have an FHE and its so much fun. the most effective use of our time as missionaries here in Aunuu is having the members come together as a happy family with a nonmember family to let them feel that joy. So powerful...

1: just finished our nightly meeting at about 9:45 or 10 ish pm... We don't sleep. ;)

2:This is the way we get across the ocean to go to Tutuila... well at least when we had stake conference.... now we're not leaving till the 9th of July. Plus that changed from us going to Upolu now its undecided again... So maybe we'll stay here on Tutuila.

3:The game section of the FHE. Its a blast. That night was powerful too. sister Thompson shared her testimony that was a perfect example of diligence in converting her husband after such a long time of trying which is the case fro this other woman who brought her family over that night. :) That's a fun game too. :)
